T.J Potter Official Rules
These rules apply to everyone, administrators and moderators included.
*New/overhauled rules have asterisks.*
Users may contest any moderation actions performed by staff(unless otherwise posted) by sending a descriptively-titled personal message to one or all staff members. ANY contesting on the forums themselves may be removed by staff at any time without warning, and can result in further disciplinary action.
General Forum Rules:
1. Abide by the ProBoards Terms Of Service.
Terms Of Service Highlights
2. Abide by the ProBoards Community Guidlines.
Community Guidelines Highlights
3. No spamming/contributing to spam.
3.1 No user introduction/update threads*
Welcome to TMS! Please do not make any threads regarding your status, such as "I'm the new one", "I'm back" or "I'm leaving". If you want to feel welcome simply jump into an ongoing discussion and combine your hello with a thoughtful and insightful post! Status updates can also be posted and discussed in the General Discussions thread.
Posting of only smileys, general banter, advertising and pornography are prohibited.
The making a thread, or posting a reply that has no real worth, is irrelevant, useless and offers nothing to a discussion is considered spam. If your post/thread is not able to start or sustain an on-topic conversation then it's spam.
Do not double-post (make two posts, without any posts from other users separating them) in the same topic within a 24 hour period. Double-posting is permitted if the second message is posted 24 hours or more after the first post.
Violation of these rules may result in the removal of offending posts, or the suspending/banning of your account. All actions may be taken by staff at their discretion, without prior warning.
4. Write in English.
This is an English-speaking forum. The "translate post" option on each post can be used to translate from english to your native language. Posts that do not follow this rule will be removed without warning. Offenders who break this rule multiple times may have their accounts suspended/banned.
5. Do not troll other members.
Trolling is defined as "the posting of inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion." Mocking/teasing/ridiculing someone or the point someone wants to make is also trolling. This includes quoting someone, either from the forums or from a PM against their wishes in your signature to belittle/tease/mock them. Trolling can, depending on the severity of the offense, get you suspended/banned without notice.
6. No public fighting.
Fighting or contributing to a fight may result in your account being suspended or banned without notice. If you are having any issues or witness fighting among members, please use the "report to mod" function at the bottom of the offending post. If you have an issue with someone, let them know in a personal message, or keep it to yourself.
6.1 No derogatory remarks towards staff members in the public forums.*
If you have a frustration with one of the staff, please express your concerns/complaints in a PM to another staff member, preferably Chris. Any hateful or disrespectful remarks made towards staff can result on a temporary ban, at the staff's discretion. *Disciplinary action may be appealed by the member!*
7. Post in the correct topic/section.*
Always post messages and topics in the section/topic that best suits the subject of your post.
7.1 Post questions in the correct topic.* Each board has a questions topic, which should be used for questions, such as (but not limited to) "why is my game crashing", "where can I find this mod" or "how do I do this". Questions posted in their own thread may be moved or removed by staff at their discretion. Users may not contest the moving/removal of these types of threads. NO EXCEPTIONS.

8. No excessive cursing.
Help the staff keep things civil and tasteful by watching your language. There is no word filter, but abuse that privilege. Staff will notify you if they feel you are violating this rule, and if warnings are ignored, your account may be suspended temporarily.
9. No VTC advertising.
Do not post threads or messages with the intent of recruiting members to your Virtual trucking Company (VTC), Virtual Airline (VA) or any other similar site.
Avatars and signatures may contain content relating to VTCs/VAs/etc, and signatures may include links to your VTC/VA/etc website.
VTC/VA/etc advertising threads may be moved or removed by staff at their discretion. Users may not contest the moving/removal of these types of threads. NO EXCEPTIONS.
10. Do not post in old threads.
Threads older than 2 months (~60 days) should not be posted in unless something significant is being added. If in doubt as to what is "significant", contact a moderator and they will give you their honest opinion. Old threads will remain open, be closed, or be removed at the discretion of staff. Digging up an old thread simply to say "Any news?" or "dead link." is not acceptable. Send a personal message to the thread-starter if you have questions. If the thread-starter has been banned or their account has been deleted, there is no further action you can take. Do not post in the topic. Do not personal message the staff about it.
11. Mod Posting Rules:
11.1 Post mod credits.
If you create a new thread for your mod, regardless of whether it is public or private, you must post full credits.
11.2 Include a README.
All mods posted on the forums must include a "readme" file with the credit list, and basic installation instructions.
If posted modifications are found to violate these rules, the thread will be removed, and the author of the topic is subject to suspension/banning, depending on the severity of the infraction.
12. Image Posting Rules:
12.1 No explicit or insulting images (see below for an update).
Any images posted containing content that is personally insulting or that contains porn, real killing, mutilations, wounds, carnage, and other images deemed by staff to be disgusting/explicit will result in the poster being immediately banned. This also includes links to pages that contain such images. If you are in doubt, contact a moderator via private message before posting. You won't be banned for checking out if a link is ok to post if it's a genuine request.
Revealing photos must have all private areas completely covered.
ALL images must comply with the Proboards Community Guidelines
12.2 Screenshots:
Maximum resolution for screenshots that are not part of a signature or avatar is 1440x900.
Screenshots must be in .jpg format.
Maximum of 6 pictures per post. DO NOT double post to get around this rule. If you do, the mods will strike you down like zeus.
The Real Truckin' Pictures thread is exempt from this rule. Keep the number of images reasonable if their resolution exceeds 1440x900.
When posting more than six screenshots per post, they MUST be within spoiler tags to avoid removal. This does NOT make them exempt from removal, it only reduces the chance that they will be removed.
DO NOT ABUSE THIS RULE.
Screenshots that violate these rules may be removed by moderators at any time, without notice.
12.3 Avatars:
Maximum avatar dimensions is 100 pixels wide and 100 pixels high (see example below).
Avatars exceeding these dimensions will automatically be downsized.
If the total file size of the avatar exceeds 250kb, the avatar is subject to removal by staff.
Avatar content MUST follow the Community Guidelines.
12.4 Signatures:*
Maximum signature dimensions, including ALL images and text is 600 pixels wide and 200 pixels high (see example below).
Signatures exceeding these dimensions will automatically have scroll bars applied.
If the total file size of all signature image(s) exceeds 250kb, the entire signature is subject to removal by staff.
Signature content MUST follow the Community Guidelines.
Users who abuse these guidelines repeatedly or grievously may be "blacklisted" by staff, causing them to loose all signature privileges.
Staff may, at any time and without prior warning, remove ANY images that are not relevant to the topic, crude, or do not follow the above guidelines.
These rules may be changed at any time. It is your responsibility as a member to follow these rules.
Update on avatars and "explicit" imagery.
Staff has discussed on what exactly explicit, obscene, or filthy imagery is classified as. We have came to the conclusion that revealing photos or avatars are allowed on the forum to a certain extent. Any full nudity, close to nudity; like covering up private areas with tape or other body parts, or touching direct contact on genitals will make you liable for punishment. I can't post examples here obviously, but use revealing photos or avatars at your own risk. It is up to the staff's own discretion whether your avatar or image will be removed.
